Sailing in diffrent places

f28r Full Stride at anchor Dunedin fl on St Johns sound my Dad on the helm on the gulf of mexico

Trailerbility and access to virtually anywhere you might want to go drew me to the Corsair boats. The ease that it is to sail and ability to set the boats up and single hand is quite remakeable. It takes me approximately 55min to an hour to set up by myself and about 45 min to take apart that is from the trailer to the water and back.I do however drop the mast before i fold the boat up before i put it on the trailer.

If i wanted a boat which stays in the water all the time the Condor 40 is my perferred boat .I have sailed a few of these and i feel that they are a very seaworthy boat.

Bens 3 metre tri in Seattle Washington My rig for trailering my Corsair F28r . A little overkill but i have everything that i need .This rig allowed me to spend a few months traveling and sailing around Florida
I have a 1992 chevy diesel van which i trailer my corsair boat with . When traveling i have it packed with all the necessary tools to keep the boat going . The rig takes up a good part of the road but it is manageable ,your not going to set any speed records but it is faster than sailing to diffrent destinations.Just pack up and go.

I have been in most types of sailing conditions and have developed quite of bit of confidence in the boat , so much so that it is scary . I think if you get over confident it could get dangerous .

My boat on the York River corsair sprint 750 san diego ca.

My friend Mike and me on he York River in October temps still get into the upper 70s and low 80s in Virginia , Lower Chesapeake Bay.

The new sprint 750,after going to the corsair factory i was invited to sail onboard the sprint 750.it is a nice boat, strictly a daysailor.the cockpit is as large as the one on my corsairf28r.makes working things nice because you have the room.the rudder goes straight up and down in a rudder pocket which will tilt up if grounded.when getting into shallow water pull the rudder up part way without getting weather helm.rudder and daggerboards are made of aluminum.overall i liked the boat.

A couple of hours on a replica new on the York River corsair f-28r at san diego yacht club

New floating piers were installed on the Yorktown side of the York River. The piers are easily acessible with dock hands to help you tie your boat up.I have seen people tie up there overnight .I have heard that fees are reasonable and there are discounts for eating and shopping at the waterside resturants and stores .

i got to spend time in san diego a place where it seems to have more sailboats than motorboats .also this place is a weathermans dream you can make 2 month forecasts and be totally correct. wind and sunshine most every day.i didnt know if these sailors even had a job since there was always  sailboats out on san diego bay.
